Alan Britton

Born in North Wales and growing up in East London, only 30 minutes away from Epping Forest, coupled with his fathers enthusiasm for bird watching along with many undeveloped local industrial areas ensured Alan’s fascination and love of nature and wildlife.

With over thirty years experience as a stills photographer and studying photography at ‘O’ level while at school, saw him regularly featured in the top ten of his local camera club’s competitions. Thus, the transfer to moving images was a natural progression and in April 2014, Alan purchased his own broadcast quality High Definition video camera.

When not out filming, he regularly volunteers with a local community radio station, co-presenting a regular weekly afternoon magazine show and until very recently a daily lunchtime music show. He also has extensive experience in audio and video editing having completed a digital audio module as part of his Honours Degree in Natural Sciences.

Peter Purves (BBC/ITV) trained Alan in Television Presenting at the London Academy of Film, Media and Television, gaining a Foundation Diploma in 2008.

Previously, Alan spent over twenty years working in various engineering roles ranging from analogue electronics to supervising the reception department of his local NHS Hospital’s Pathology laboratory via a stint designing Stainless Steel Toilets.

The people who have known and worked with Alan describe him as bright and out going with a “can-do” attitude and always looking for innovative ways to solve problems, a bonus to any project.
